In addition to these penalties, domestic violence charges against a defendant impact child custody, financial support, and passing a criminal background check for employment. At Fait &#038; DiLima Family Law, we can process protective orders against the person accused of domestic violence. A protective order forbids the accused from contacting or being around the accuser&#8217;s presence and any minor children involved.
